The Shawl Ministry
The Shawl Ministry is a group of several members of our congregation who knit shawls. The pattern of knit three, purl three is used. The pattern of three is found in every religion and society. Human existence has three stages: birth, life, and death. Time has three divisions: past, present, and future. “Human Being” has three parts: body, mind, and spirit. The virtues frequently mentioned together are faith, hope, and love.
These shawls are given to those in need by someone who has knitted it with loving and caring hands; a person who while she was knitting the shawl, was praying for the person who would be wearing it.
Contact Aletha Schade at 610-530-9279 if you need a shawl. It need not be for a member: shawls are available for family, friends and community.
ATTENTION KNITTERS: The yarn has been relocated to a plastic crate, which is stored in the chapel closet. Feel free to pick up yarn or drop off completed shawls in this crate. We are averaging six shawls per month, so your help is needed to keep up with the demand.
